Stop!! and smell the flowers…notice every little detail you are experiencing in this moment in time. Bask in the warm sunshine, pet your dog or cat, take a long deep breath and be happy you are alive. Check out of your “monkey mind” and all the swirling thoughts. Sitting with yourself, take time to practice some breath work. Slow deep inhales through your nose, long exhales through your nose…repeat for at least 3 minutes. To distract your thoughts, alternate nostrils in this breathing exercise. Good job! You just meditated. Anytime you can pull your focus out of that monkey mind..you have created peace and the space to be in the here and now. Do not weep for the past or feel anxious about the future. The present moment is ALL you have, there is not guarantee of a future. If you find yourself in a relationship today, no need to worry about what could happen to derail it all tomorrow. If finances are your worry, check in to where all that is and make a plan, and then stop focusing on where it all will be later, that will only serve to steal your present happiness, and rob you of the beauty of NOW.
