Let’s talk about sex…especially after the recent upheaval of Roe V. Wade. I grew up in Florida in the 70’s. My daughter was born 1972 when abortions were not legal here. My mother was a staunch Catholic and I was only 17. She offered the solution of staying with family in New York where abortions were legal, but that option was still distasteful to Mom, maybe give birth and give up for adoption? In the end I chose to marry the father and have my baby after all. Life was not easy and the marriage was over within two years. Babies having babies. My career and school options were left behind as I had an important job to do now…raising my daughter. My mother was very hands on and helpful..something very necessary for a young mother to make it through. Lots of bumps and difficulties ensued and today she is a beautiful vibrant and intelligent 50 year old woman. 50 years later legal abortions nationwide are now NOT legal. The Supreme Court ruling changed the world once again for the better or worse..depends on how you feel about it. Sex….be careful!
