We are all in this together

Weddings

Weddings invoke many emotions. I know because I recently attended my son’s beautiful wedding ceremony. The range of feelings ran from happy crying to sympathy for a woman sitting heartbroken over the loss of Her son. He was a close friend, succumbing to drugs not very long ago. She celebrating with my son now, as comfort in her pain.

Reconnecting with family members and ex-husbands whom I haven’t seen in awhile. So good to be together during a joyous uniting and not feeling the need to pretend warm feelings, when they just were there.

Sitting with new feelings about the other side of this union. Keeping an open mind and heart as to promote future positive meetings. Knowing they are also checking You out, can be uncomfortable. Just have fun and be yourself is my advice. Also..it is good to not drink in excess,,for so many reasons.

Watching the other guests and speaking to a few let me know I was not the only one grappling with strong emotions. Were the tears in one man’s eyes a memory of love lost as he watched the after ceremony kiss?

Whatever emotion you experience, it is a fact that a wedding changes family dynamics forever!
